Mishap Investigation Airplane Investigation Every setback has their own attributes and there is not a viable alternative for classic sound judgment and activity. Each destroyed airplane has itââ¬â¢s own story to tell if appropriately examined. Anyway Air Force rules rush to call attention to that examiners in their enthusiasm search out the causes, frequently overlook safe examination practices and regular security insurances. Aviation based armed forces Investigators are perhaps in considerably progressively troublesome situation because of the risks that are one of a kind to the military war battling machines, Iââ¬â¢ll talk about a couple of these perils quickly before I get into the means of Air Force mishap examinations. Weapons Outrageous consideration must be given to the weapons that may have been ready the airplane. Because the ammo seems, by all accounts, to be harmed past being perilous the scarcest measure of electricity produced via friction from dress may explode weapons. Prior to beginning an examination of any sort, get the rundown of weapons on board and have the dangerous mandate removal (EOD) group evacuate or idle them. Again enthusiasm must be controlled and situational mindfulness must be practiced to be keeping watch for those weapons that might not have been recuperated. Additionally, however dull, the areas of all weapons should be noted, as they will hold pieces of information also. The discharge seats can likewise introduce extraordinary risks to undeveloped and thoughtless agent. Poisons Hydrazine. Itââ¬â¢s a word that strikes dread in all that know about it. New age airplane, for example, the F-16 use hydrazine for crisis power supplies. It would appear that a reasonable sleek substance that scents like alkali. A portion of the impacts hydrazine can have on the human body include: liver harm, visual impairment, skin consumes, and drag out presentation might be lethal. Just base bioenvironmental engineers are sufficiently qualified to appropriately deal with it. Analysis on Eastern European HRM Model Free Essays
Numerous Western firms are quickly putting resources into, or framing joint endeavors with, firms in Eastern European nations. In spite of the development in Direct Foreign Investment (DFI) in Eastern Europe, Western chiefs know moderately minimal about the Human Resource Management (HRM) practices of these nations. In this paper HRM rehearses are talked about in Eastern European states, for example, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Russia. We will compose a custom exposition test on Investigation on Eastern European HRM Model or then again any comparable theme just for you Request Now In spite of the fact that there are both authentic and social contrasts between these nations, these nations will be managed together, as they all share various components for all intents and purpose that empower chiefs or scientists to consider them to be an entirety. The reason for this paper is to dissect if an Eastern European HRM model can be developed based on an examination of Eastern Europe on a few regions. In the first place, nature is broke down, in which a few perspectives are secured, for example, political setting and history. The accentuation lies on culture and (potential) ramifications for business, and HRM explicitly. Besides, explicit Eastern European HR rehearses are managed in section three. Here as well, a few themes are broke down. In the fourth part the ramifications of EU development are considered according to Eastern Europe. The same number of these nations are potential possibility for a participation of the EU, the vital changes and suggestions are explored. In view of all the swearing off, an endeavor is made to set up an Eastern European HRM model in the fifth part. At last, in part six, ends are given trailed by bearings for future research. The examination of the ecological parts of Eastern Europe incorporate the accompanying perspectives: Taking a gander at Eastern Europeââ¬â¢s history, a few headliners can be distinguished that affect todayââ¬â¢s business or social circumstance. To start with, the two World Wars majorly affected the production of the political and financial hole among Eastern and Western Europe, particularly the Second World War. Eastern Europe went under the impact of the previous Soviet Union, which inferred that all nations were under direct political, military and monetary control bringing about an extremely unified economy. This sort of economy profoundly affected the HRM rehearses that were utilized in those nations, which is additionally clarified in the following section. Besides, under Gorbatsjov as the leader of the previous Soviet Union, contact with Western Europe was looked for, bringing about the separation of the Soviet Union and the beginning of another period for Eastern Europe. Gradually, yet continuously a move was acknowledged from a focal towards a market economy, again with the essential ramifications for (HR) the board. The characteristics that were required by directors of Eastern European undertakings were the capacity to deal, the ownership of a system of providers and buyers, and the capacity to control creation and monetary information. This style of the board was driven by the reaction to the designation of assets by a brought together administration in which competition between ventures for assets prompted superfluous storing of materials. The historical backdrop of Eastern Europe despite everything impacts todayââ¬â¢s business activities. Numerous staff chiefs and officials host their occupations on account of Get-together associations as opposed to specialized ability. Inventiveness and unique reasoning was not supported or fortified under the brought together government control. Top down correspondence was the standard. Basic US practices, for example, MBO or 360-degree criticism, or Western European structures, for example, solid worker inclusion or self-administration work groups won't be effortlessly moved toward the Eastern European workplace. Strategic approaches that originate from political defilement or sorted out wrongdoing exercises are still real factors and may abuse other countriesââ¬â¢ laws and moral standards. In spite of the incredible changes that have happened in Eastern Europe, western supervisors should calmly acknowledge these distinctions and endeavor to shape fruitful business connection s given natural and political limitations. As referenced previously, the prevailing political framework in Eastern Europe was socialism. This inferred a ton of the huge organizations were state-claimed and the administration intensely impacted worker's organizations. The view anticipated to the outside world by socialist governments, was that of in a workerââ¬â¢s state, for example, the Soviet Union and its Eastern European satellites, the enthusiasm of the laborers were as one with the administration, on the grounds that the legislature was constrained by a tyranny of the low class. The issue with such a unitarist framework is, that it takes into consideration minimal reasonable analysis that may bear the cost of changes and changes to address genuine difficulties. In principle worker's organizations were a different element from the Communist Party, yet actually they were frequently constrained by Party individuals. This implied under socialism, joblessness was obscure because of control with measurable information and shrouded joblessness (a specific activity is being finished by a greater number of individuals than should be expected, just so as to furnish more individuals with work). The change from a fundamental to a market economy was started together with the progress from a socialist to an entrepreneur political system, and was begun in 1989 after the fall of ââ¬Ëthe iron curtainââ¬â¢. This change had a few results. To begin with, because of the concealed joblessness and trying to make associations increasingly effective and to reduce expenses, joblessness rose. Still now a significant issue looked by Eastern European nations is tenacious basic joblessness. Furthermore, following a few years a great deal of state-possessed organizations were privatized. In these organizations normally a worker culture of the arranged economy remained. The instructive framework has been and still is somewhat acceptable. An examination of 256 Russian CEOââ¬â¢s from everywhere throughout the nation, the mind lion's share (91,4 %) of them had school or advanced educations. In the Eastern European work advertises a reasonable accentuation is put on a specialized foundation, in excess of a proper administration training. This was likewise upheld up by the investigation: around 60 % had building and other specialized foundations, though just around 20 % had a proper administration degree. Be that as it may, because of this solid accentuation on a specialized foundation, there is a huge lack of nearby official ability. Ostracizes stay a key part of the administration showcase â⬠an expected 25 percent of all administrators in Eastern European firms are exiles. Then again, this need training is quickly evolving. Likewise because of the endeavors to get ready for EU augmentation, a move in instruction is unmistakably observable. Increasingly more expert administration examines are started and further grew, at some point through the assistance of a trade program (for example CEMS). In this way, we additionally observe a move in enrollment: increasingly modern strategies for pulling in administrators ââ¬, for example, the utilization of college selecting and official pursuit â⬠are on the rise for senior-level supervisors, progressively supplanting paper publicizing and verbal. à With respect to European administrators, Hofstede guessed that they would be described by a powerful separation (at the end of the day, they would show high resistance toward disparity in the general public and business connections), high vulnerability shirking, medium independence, and low manliness. As an examination point, the United States are described by a low force separation, high independence, high manliness and low vulnerability evasion. These guesses were additionally supported up by study performed by Bollinger, who found precisely the same outcomes. Breaking down these outcomes, we see that the Eastern European culture contrasts from Western societies, contingent upon what nation. For example Western European nations, for example, Germany and the Netherlands have a greater number of similitudes with this culture than United States culture or Japanese culture. So as to create and oversee sufficient HR strategies, the factor culture assumes a significant job in this procedure. This Eastern European culture is still affected by the past of socialism and focal economy. The eastern European business condition is mind boggling and altogether different from the western business condition. Regardless of Eastern Europeââ¬â¢s enormous shopper base and regular assets, western organizations have not been anxious to put resources into these nations for a huge scope, for example, in China. As information increments about Eastern Europe and its business openings, and as nations in this locale join the EU, expanding western consideration will concentrate on leading business in this area. However, moderately little has been composed to control western directors in Eastern Europe. The arrangement of Human Resource Management and modern relations in Eastern Europe has been experiencing gigantic change since 1989 and will keep on doing as such for quite a while to come. The major issue is the progress from a unitarist framework, firmly constrained by socialist governments that affected each edge of the economy, to a more pluralist framework working in some kind of free market. It is evident to most eyewitnesses that some type of pluralistic equalization should be accomplished to contain uncontrolled free market powers. At present most Eastern European nations are stuck in the transitional stage between these two states. For example, work propensities have changed significantly â⬠with 50-hour weeks and taking work home increasingly more the standard. Simultaneously, truancy is low, showing a solid pledge to the activity. In this section the accompanying current Eastern European HR rehearses are dissected: enlistment and remuneration. Endeavors by Eastern European firms to modernize their workfo

Organizational Structure (1207 words) Essay Example For Students
Organizational Structure (1207 words) Essay Organizational StructureOrganizational StructureAndrea GuadianaMGT230June 17, 2014Jay TustenOrganizational StructureZale Corporation is multifaceted and operates under more than one name. Zale is among the largest jewelry retailers of America. They sell diamonds, gemstones, Silver and Gold jewelry, watches and costume jewelry over 1,100 stores and over 600 kiosks. They also have stores operating in Puerto Rico and Canada. Zale targets the value-oriented type of customer and high quality products with phenomenal customer service. These are Gordons Jewelers, the flagship chain Zales Jewelers, and Piercing Pagoda. They also have nearly 150 outlet stores. In Canada, they opened approximately 200 stores which are Peoples Jewellers and Mappins Jewellers. Zale also operates websites where they sell their jewelry online. They have six online retail brands. These include their main online store, zales.com and their discount store, zalesoutlet.com. Gordon Jewelers also operates online via gord onsjewelers.com. Canadas Peoples Jewellers and Piercing Pagoda also have their retails brands, peoplesjewellers.com and pagoda.com. Insurance is even offered for in-store and on-line purchases at an additional cost. Zales functional organizational structure is unique and different from the type of divisional structure of department stores such as JC Penny and Sears or the matrix type of organization of Wal-Mart. Zales is owned and ran by a distinct group of executive directors. The group consists of the following: chief executive officer, chief administrative officer, executive vice president, chief merchant and sourcing officer, executive vice president, chief marketing officer, senior vice president of merchandise planning and allocation, senior vice president of financial products, senior vice president and chief information officer ,senior vice president and chief financial officer, senior vice president of supply chain, senior vice president and chief of stores officer, senior vice president of human resources and customer service, senior vice president of real estate, senior vice president and general manager of Piercing Pagoda. That is not all. Each Senior VP also has their individual teams. Their teams include vice presidents, directors and their subordinates. Each employee is selected based on their skills, knowledge, and experience of the role they are hired to fill. One of Zales competitors, JC Penny (JCP) follows a different corporate structure. Their organization is more of a divisional type of structure. JCP has a board of directors. There are twelve executive directors; one executive for each division within the company. Each division consists of a marketing, finance, and operations department. Unlike Zale, JCP sells a plethora of different goods. An organization that uses a hybrid structure is Wal-Mart. A hybrid combines the key elements of a functional and divisional structure.Wal-Mart sells even more different types of good than JCP. Wal-Mart crossed the retail boundaries and offers consumers the convenience of having one store to do practically all of their shopping. A Wal-Mart customer has the option of buying groceries, electronics, jewelry, house wares, clothing, and even automotive goods. Wal-Marts organizational structure is unique because they do not have just one CEO, they have nine; one for each division. This includes 21 executives, and five Senior Presidents. Since Wal-Mart has a broad, global market, their divisions must be broken into areas of specialty with one leader per each division. Zales organization structure breaks down in to six departments, each with their different functions. The first of these is the merchandising department. The merchandising department has one Vice President and six merchant teams who carefully select which products get sent out to stores to be put on the shelves for customers to purchase. The second department is Sourcing. In the sourcing department there is one Vice Presiden t and two directors who each have a team. Sourcing deals mainly with manufacturing. This department keeps track of all orders as well as profits and losses, searches for and negotiates the lowest costs of components, and serves as the main line of communication between merchants and vendors. The next department is marketing. The marketing department consists of the vice president and two directors. Then there are eight additional employees that work underneath them. Although Zale serves a variety of demographics, yet maintaining a professional and polished appearance is very important to the company. Most of Zales advertising is done through mail, yet email communications are also used. The next department is finance. In this department there are two vice presidents and six directors including their individual teams. The finance department is responsible for ensuring that all monies are dispersed correctly and to the appropriate departments. Finance all keeps accounts of all accrued expenses and manages the financial statements and accounts. The last department is the Information Technology (IT) department. IT consists of a vice president and two directors who each have a team of six employees. IT ensures that all computers and computer software runs properly. This includes troubleshooting and correcting computer and software errors. IT also installs and runs all new software programs and may even conduct small training classes to help employees learn new systems. Besides maintaining computers and software, IT also looks for the latest and greatest products available to help the company keep a competitive edge. Last, but definitely not least, is the Human Resources (HR) department. The HR department is one of the most important departments of all. HR consists of one vice president, then four directors and their individual administrators. The administrators each have their own team of employees as well. This department is responsible for selecting appropriate a pplicants for hire and placing them in a position that best suits his/her and the companys needs. The HR department is also responsible for managing and resolving employee conflicts or concerns. They handle payroll and employee benefits as well. Zales organizational structure seems to be set in place properly. However, the organization has experienced many ups and downs in profit since it first opened. Much of these ups and downs are due to the economy. When there is a boom in the economy, then jewelry sales increase. When the economy is suffering, jewelry companies lose a lot of money because jewelry is not a necessity that people cannot live without. To conclude, Zales lacks consistent leadership because the CEO of the organization keeps changing and economic situations have been unfavorable. If success is what the company wants, then they have to have a leader who is willing to stick around, roll up his/her sleeves and lead them to victory. In 2010, Theo Killion was appointed CEO of Zale Corporation. Within three years he was able to turn the companys success rate around. In 2013, the company officially returned to profitability by achieving an impressive $10,000 in earnings. This is the largest amount of earnings the company has seen since 2007. If Theo Killion can maintain his quality of leadership and stick with the company for a while, then perhaps we will see a trend of success for Zales in the future. Importance of Self
Table of Contents Introduction Self-identity Essentials of Self- identity Importance of Self-identity Harmful effects of Self-identity Conclusion Works Cited Introduction Self-identity or self-knowledge is the mental ability to recognize self-attributes in life. One can identify self-attributes through introspection and also by use of common senses such as taste, feel, touch, sight and smell in order to come up with the self assessment.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Importance of Self-Identity specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More Self-knowledge is very necessary as it helps one to identify the strengths and weaknesses that one has in the view of imminent challenges in life. The nature of our minds and bodies has potential to coordinate self-assessment and uniquely identify our selves as different entities from one another thus appreciate variations of our cherished attributes that exist in the society. This (na ture of our minds or perspectives), sums up the whole body of self-identity cum self-knowledge. Self-identity Self-identity is a complex process of understanding the one self relative to the environment. The environment is composed of problems, challenges and people to interact with meaningfully. In order to interact with people effectively, self-identity and understanding of their attributes will bring harmonious relationship. According to Coulibaly, ability of self-identity is determined by the innate attributes of an individual, depending on whether one is an introvert or an extrovert. People who have innate introvert characteristics can easily understand themselves as compared to the people with innate extrovert characteristics (Para. 1). This means, self-identity and self-knowledge are linked to innate characteristics and are factors to consider when assessing self-worth in relation to other people Since introverts tend to be lonely and isolated, this gives them an opportunity to think and reflect about themselves making them to easily understand their fears, weaknesses, strengths and abilities in life. On the other hand, extroverts have many friends to talk to and share about their fears, weaknesses, strengths and abilities. Actively sharing gives extroverts opportunity to have meditation just like the introverts (Coulibaly Para. 2-5). The key to self-identity is constant meditation about personal attributes in both extroverts and introverts and transforming the abilities and capacities of oneââ¬â¢s self to a different level by optimizing them. Essentials of Self- identity Our minds and body are both essential components of self-identity. Our minds constantly meditate in trying to answer endless questions in life concerning the challenges we face. The challenges in life require solutions, compelling our minds to think continuously otherwise the issues that remain unsolved at the end of the day will depress us. Active minds are actively processing info rmation to come up with possible solutions at the instances when we experience challenges or as prompted by our internal condition.Advertising Looking for essay on philosophy? These memories are very critical in the meditations as all past challenges and experiences have been recorded in the brain hence can only be reflected whenever we think about our selves. The memory can quickly and quite easily bring to our remembrance the challenges and experiences that can be applied our present circumstances. Application of past experiences to present circumstances save the brain from processing raw data in order to come up with new solutions . Common senses in our bodies are necessary for us to meditate effectively as they input information into our minds to be processed. The eyes can see a given situation and relays the right message into our m inds to be processed, and our minds cannot process information contrary to the one relayed to it (Coulibaly Para. 2-5). Similarly, the hearing, the smell, the taste and the touch are coordinated with our minds so that the right stimuli is relayed to the mind and processed appropriately bringing about the correct perception and response of a situation. This complex coordination of the mind and body results into clear understanding of self. Importance of Self-identity Self-identity help in the identification of varied self-attributes that determines who we are in the society. The awareness of onesââ¬â¢ attributes is necessary in dealing with daily imminent challenges that cloud and flood our minds since one can meditate to optimize the abilities and improve on the weakness. Without understanding personal strengths and weaknesses, it will be a daunting task in trying to optimize the perceived abilities. Self-identity enhances our courage and self-esteem. With the knowledge of self, one can face reality with courage and confront whatever challenges cropping up in life. High self-esteem can make us live better and happy lives due to the understanding of who we are relative to the perceived expectations (Parfit 684). Lack of self-identity will greatly have negative impacts in our lives, as our abilities will be underutilised resulting into poor personal development. Another benefit of self-identity is that, it greatly changes the way we view others and challenges in life. Understanding oneââ¬â¢s attributes and by extension analyzing attributes of others broadens our perception of life (Parfit 688). We can use our own experiences when helping others identify and apply their self-knowledge in building their attributes. Harmful effects of Self-identity Self-identity can be very harmful to an individual who is battling the bad past. Since one cannot change the past but the present, meditation as part of self-identity can bring bad past into remembrance.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Importance of Self-Identity specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More The haunting past that cannot be changed as one tries to identify his fears, worries, strengths and abilities with the aim of changing them for better life. (Coulibaly Para. 4). Our minds keep memories and can be refreshed if prompted. The haunting past is very harmful to our lives because our minds are taken back to the very bad experience that cannot be changed but can only be forgotten. The other problem about self-identity is the over confidence in life. Being over confidence can be so dangerous at times, because one can underestimate the magnitude of a challenge or a problem resulting into great disappointment in the end. People with great self-knowledge have false perception of themselves as infallible and can despise the opinions of others (Coulibaly Para. 6). It is not easy to work or live with such people because they are always right and need no advice. During self-identity process or failure to identify oneââ¬â¢s self, identity crisis occurs. In the identity crisis is due to conflicting identities and uncertainties that results in strange behavioural and mental changes in an individual. This crisis needs proper understanding of self in order to overcome it Conclusion Self-identity or self-knowledge is the mental ability to assess and characterize self-attributes in terms of strengths, weaknesses, fears, values, abilities with the objective of improving our capacities. The capacity to face challenges in life depends on the degree of self-identity. The mind and body coordinate activities that lead to comprehensive self-identity hence transforms focus in life to a better and happy life. Waist-to-Hip Ratio Essay Example
Waist Waist-to-Hip Ratio Paper Waist-to-Hip Ratio Paper It can be seen that the relationship is linear between the WHR, i. e. the lower the WHR value the more attractive the image is considered to be. Whereas, the BMI the data is not linearly related and that the lower the BMI score the image seems to be unattractive and the higher the BMI score the image is also considered to be unattractive. As the BMI is not linearly related a quadratic formula had to be used in order to better predict the rating. Therefore the residuals had to be analysed in order to justify this. Graphs 5 and 6 show the distribution of the residuals for the attractiveness rating and the relationship of them with the fitted values, respectively. The residuals were distributed normally and the relationship seemed linear, but seemed to have a high variance. Similarly with the residuals of WHR (graphs 7 and 8), residuals were normally distributed and an approximate linear relationship with the fitted values. However, the residuals for the BMI, although normally distributed (graph 9), did not have a linear relationship with their fitted values (graph 10). So a quadratic formula was used which resulted in a much smoother parabola (graph 11) showing the same relationship from graph 3 but more clearly. As all the residuals were approximately normally distributed regression analysis was valid and applied (table 1) using the quadratic (BMI2) as one of the predictors. This resulted in only just under 30% (R-sq = 29. 0%) of the variance being explained by the three predictors. This was probably due to other contributing factors that were not taken into account during the experiment such as the gender of the subjects, cultural differences e. t. c. An analysis of the variance was applied and resulted in a very highly significant variance ratio (874. 55) suggesting that both the BMI and WHR were significant contributing factors. The first table of best subsets (table 3) shows that the WHR is the more influential of the two factors. However, only 29% of the variance has been explained and this is not much, so could be inaccurate. So, a cubic formula was tried and this resulted in a more accurate regression equation (table 4) and a greater proportion of the variance was explained (46. 4%). The best subsets (table 6) showed that the BMI was the best contributing factor with the WHR second. The analysis of variance (table 5) confirmed that the significance of the two factors in predicting the attractiveness rating had increased (variance ratio = 1390. 05). The same test was done to discover if using a formula with the power 4 would make a more accurate predictor. This was true and R-sq = 48. 8%, so the accuracy was beginning to plateau off at around 50%. The best subsets of the power four attempted, however was impossible to compute as the correlation was too high. Using firstly, the quadratic allowed a relationship between the three values WHR, BMI and attractiveness to be formulated and plotted against one another (graph 12). This shows that the relationship between the BMI and the attractiveness is always curved, however, the height and elevation of the curve always depends upon the WHR. The values are greatest for attractiveness where WHR is high and the BMI is in the middle of the range. This contradicts graph 4 where the lower the WHR the more attractive the image is considered to be. However, graph 4 only takes into account the influence of WHR alone, not the joint influence of both factors together like graph 12. Greater information could be been obtained if the subjects were asked their gender before rating the images. This would have allowed insight into whether males perception of attractiveness if different to that of womens. Also the age of the subjects could have been varied to see if the age of the individual has an affect on their perception of attractiveness. This has been researched by Fallon and Rozin (1989, cited in Singh 1994) as womens perception is thinner than that of mens ideal. This also works the opposite way, as the age and gender of the images could have been varied to see if either one has an effect upon attractiveness. Cultural differences both of the subject and of the image should be investigated. If the culture of the subject influences their perception, or if, for example, the colour of the person in the image matters to the subject. Are coloured people considered to be less, more or indifferent in their attractiveness to other different coloured people? Also, geographical differences, whether the ideal image of attractiveness varies between the populations of different countries. Yu and Shepard (1998, cited in Tovee Cornelissen 1999) have investigated this and among their findings concluded that Americans prefer higher WHRs to the English. Possibly a more important and more interesting factor could be eating disorders and the effect that they have upon the individuals perception of attractiveness. With the medias representation and obsession with supermodels there has been a steady increase of eating disorders among the population. This rise was predicted by the studies of Agras (1987 cited in Morris et al 1989) when the change in the body shape of women began to appear in fashion magazines. To conclude at first the WHR seemed to be the more important contributing factor (table 3) however, when using a cubic and the power of 4 the accuracy began to increase and it became apparent that the BMI was quite considerably the more influential of the two factors (BMI = 11. 3% and WHR = 9. 8%). This is supported by other research; however, there are many other contributing factors such as, age, culture and eating disorders, which need further investigation. Historical development of the Role of Human Resource Management Essay
Historical development of the Role of Human Resource Management - Essay Example Human resource management is in charge of compelling the recruited employees to be committed to their work. It evaluates the performance of the employees and it advocates for the best human assets integration to ensure the maximum efficiency in an organization. Human resource management transforms the personnel in an organization into human resources, placing emphasis on their efficiency (Heathfield, 2012). Human resource management is the function in an organization that deals with all the relations of the human assets that enhance their wellbeing in the working area. It focuses on the recruitment and evaluation of the human assets. It does a follow-up on the performance of the employees and it ensures that the relations between the human assets provide an atmosphere that motivates them. It is a strategic management plan that looks into peopleââ¬â¢s issues and solves them through the integration of various organizational policies. Human resource management is a vital function for any company looking to enhance its performance in the production of quality goods and services. HRM adds value to the organization through analyzing the performance of the employees when subjected to various programs (Marler, 2012). HRM enables the employees to contribute their ideas, which are addressed individually for the sole purpose of ensuring that all the employees in the organization achieve their highest level of efficiency. HRM is in charge of driving the employees towards achieving the common goals in the organization. HRM is a positive response to the fact that the human assets in an organization are the most important assets. Historical background of Human Resource Management Human resource management has been in existence for a very long time and it has evolved from a simple to a very complex and strategic function. The principles of human resource management were set in use since the prehistoric days when the people would use certain values to select their leaders. A fter the successful selection of a leader in the social or political scene, the leader would then pass on the knowledge he gathered to his successor and so forth. This was a form of human training. The leaders had to have outstanding knowledge in certain areas, and the heirs would be trained before they took power. This was the most basic form of human resource management, which was aimed at ensuring that the leaders were efficient and committed to their work before they could be allowed to rule (Khilawala, 2012). Historical records indicate that the first people to screen their employees were the Chinese and the Greeks. This was done by a separate function in the early organizations ââ¬â the most qualified people who have obtained jobs would be constantly evaluated and provided with training for their work. Human resource management has been given several names during its evolution. It was first recognized under the name ââ¬Å"personnel managementâ⬠. Personnel management gained popularity in the late years of the 19th century. During this period, the organizations would organize welfare officersââ¬â¢ teams whose main responsibility was to address the requirements of laborers. The welfare officers were solely females. Later on, in the early 20th century, the task of the welfare officers became too demanding, and organizations developed a new function named

Final Paper Employee Retension Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 words
Final Paper Employee Retension - Assignment Example Dundon, et al (2004) assert that employees leaving organization(s) can be very detrimental since the firm loses investment in training as well as the experience of the employees who has left. Moreover, losing an employee is a loss in terms of productivity and cost injected in training, facilitating the employee, and his or her replacement. Firms are therefore obliged to be vigilant on the potential factors that are likely to lead to employees quitting their institutions. According to Sarah (2009), the retention of employees is even more difficult in the nonprofit based organizations. They need to attract as well as retain these talents and skills since without these they are unable to achieve their mission and ultimately vision. Nonprofit organizations are perceived to lack the retention strategy of the staff. The retention process is a continuous process. Firms should emphasis on retaining their staff from the onset in that the retention strategy begins from when the employees are on board; during the recruitment process; and throughout the cycle of the employment. However, Zajkowska (2012) explain that employees leave firms for several reasons and this requires employers to pay close attention to the employees need and device appropriate and effectively retentions mechanisms. Some of the perceived reasons for this problem are: the employees viewing their jobs as not to their perceived expectation; lack of coaching or feedback of their performance; lack of prospects for growth and opportunities for advancement; the feeling of their input to the organization being undervalued and not appreciated; the need to balance life and work due to stress that emanate from daily work experience; remuneration of their services; and lack of trust in the individual in the position of leadership or management of the organization. Ruth (2010) elaborates that organizations are in the dilemma on whether to inject more

Personal Narrative: My Run Away Dog :: essays research papers
"Honey," my mom yelled to me one sunny afternoon, "Go out and feed Sugar." Sugar was our dog, a big, husky lap dog. I went to our kitchen, and got some food. Then I stepped outside, into the warm, fresh August air, looking for Sugar. I glanced to where I kept Sugar, and couldn't believe my eyes. Sugar was not there. I ran to the place where Sugar slept, I saw that the leash was elegantly coiled up. I knew that Sugar could not have run away. I thought that she must have chased a deer or another animal. Then a disturbing thought hit me, Sugar might have been abducted. As I tried to push that thought out of my mind, I thought that my mom could have put Sugar out in the garage. I went to the garage to check, but unfortunately Sugar wasn?t there. ?Mom,? I cried after a couple of seconds, ?Do you know where Sugar is?? ?Check the garage,? was all my mom replied. As soon as she said this, I knew that my beloved dog was gone. I had never been a dog lover. Matter of fact, I hated dogs, cats, and other animals. My Grandmother is a great animal lover, but she has a soft spot for dogs. One of her first dogs was an enormous, white, Sonoma named Coda. Coda enjoyed licking my face and then knocking me over. With Coda, my fear of animals started. For the next 11 years, I despised dogs. I refused to be near one. I cried, yelled, and trembled as if a monster was coming, anytime I thought a dog was near. It all changed with Sugar. The day Mom got Sugar was somewhat frightening for me. Obviously, I wanted nothing to do with the dog, I never planned to be in the same room as the dog, much less, take care of the dog. After all, Mom was supposed to take care of the dog. Slowly, I fell in love with her. She looked stern and loving. Her warm, brown eyes and pearly white smile only helped me fall in love with her. Not long after that I started to enjoy her company. Sugar was a loyal dog, she wanted to please everyone. When we went for a walk Sugar would come with us. We kept her on a leash, yet she never strayed from us.

A Piece of Art
I am choosing this piece of art because it reminds me of the original one, the Napoleon Crossing the Alps, by the French Neoclassical painter Jacques-Louis David, and also because that I am quite like this Mario game very much. This artist had turned my childhood hero into a very good piece of art, that to me, can capture every aspect of him and his loyal pet, although Yoshi does not look that fiercely. The original work of Jacques-Louis is about a mighty general, who is bravely charges in the front of the army toward the enemy. Napoleon proportion show that he is the real commander, not just any soldier or any captain, but the great Napoleon Bonaparte himself. Calmly sitting on his fiery horse, finger points toward the Alps, Napoleon leading his people to victories. To sum up, this painting express Napoleon as the hero of the peoples of France, the one who freed them from the hands of Louis the sixteenth. The Mario Crossing the Mushroom Kingdom shows a quite similar meaning. Instead of crossing the dangerous Alps, Mario just crossing the Mushroom Kingdom. Now, what we all know what Mario do in the Mushroom Kingdom: fighting evils, rescue the princess, and freed the kingdom from the tyrant's hands, so that makes Mario a hero too, right? Yes! Yes, it is! Mario is the hero of the Mushroom Kingdom. Although Mario just a plumber, he has fought for the Kingdom with all he has, his running skill as you can see in the games, and he freed them from the tyrant. The painting is very accurate in some ways, the costume, Mario's beer belly, his clothes, and all, Mario did not really wear gloves until recently, but that can be pretermit. What is different from the original painting is that, instead of pointing his finger toward the Kingdom, Mario holds a mushroom. Funny, I would say, because in the game, Mario power up by eating special mushrooms from the mystery boxes scattered around the kingdom, they can make him bigger, and stronger depends on what mushroom he eats, and that is very interesting to see the mushroom in the painting. The Mario Crossing the Mushroom Kingdom resembles most detail from the original one: Mario's proportion, Yoshi front legs, and back legs positions, the harness, and the cape. There is one interesting thing is that Yoshi left eye is glancing backward just like Napoleon's horse eye position, glancing backward. His attention to the small details like that amuse me a lot, it makes me to look for other version of Napoleon Crossing the Alps, just to look at their eyes, although I don't see the name carved in the rock anywhere in the picture, but that is not important. There is something about Naburanja version of the dinosaur Yoshi that keeps me wonder. You see, normally, Yoshi's appearance is a cute little green dinosaur, with a frog like tongue that can swallow enemies. But here, all I see is probably the grow up version of Yoshi. He is bigger, looks more muscular, his green skin looks fade a bit, perhaps to shows old age. Yoshi normally is seen wearing brown boots, but now the boots were completely torn by his claws, like Yoshi had grown up suddenly, so suddenly that he could not take off his boots, so he had to let them be torn. Naburanja usage of colors to describe the gloomy, sad atmosphere of the scenario, where the Kingdom is invaded, and overran by monster, the princess being kidnapped with no hope to rescue her, and so on, is incredible. Naburanja use the dark, gray color to describe it. What more, is that when Mario and Yoshi showed up, light breaks through the darkness, to shine upon our heroes, where ever they go. The colors where Mario stands, are bright colors, red, blue, light dirt yellow, green, and white. It shows that Mario is going to be the savior of the Mushroom KingdomOverall, the painting is magnificent to me, its capture the picture of the hero of my childhood quite correctly, using the Napoleon Crossing the Alps style of drawing. Naburanja colors usage is wonderful, it described the scenario of Mushroom Kingdom correctly, and he depicted Mario like a saint, light shine bright where ever he goes. This painting of Naburanja has many interesting aspect that I love very much, and this is the way I mostly see it, also it makes me chuckle every times I come across it.

Essay about The Arguments For and Against a Codified...
The Arguments For and Against a Codified Constitution A constitution is a set of rules that seek to establish the duties, powers and functions of the various institutions of government, regulate the relationships between them, and define the relationship between the state and the individual. The most common way of classifying constitutions is to distinguish between codified and uncodified. The UK has an uncodified constitution. A written constitution is precisely a charter that has been codified, in that the rules and regulations that citizens / individuals must abide by are stated in a single document format. Although elements of the UK constitution are written e.g. the statute law, sections ofâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦A codified constitution would describe and entrench the structure of government, the relationship between different parts of government and the relationship between government and citizens. So it would therefore prevent arbitrary government. An introduction of a codified constitution would protect the rights of the citizens. It is argued that citizenââ¬â¢s rights can only be protected if they are entrenched in a codified constitution. Without this, a government could remove rights too easily with an overall majority by simply introducing a Bill and relying on its parliamentary majority to pass it. For example, since the attack on the twin towers in the USA on 11 September 2001, the government has been able to persuade parliament to pass an anti-terrorist legislation which goes against certain rights despite the UK having a Human Rights Act (1998). As a result, for example, a number of asylum seeks have been detained without trial. Under a codified constitution they would be unable to introduce this legislation to restrict peopleââ¬â¢s rights and the only way to do this is to amend the constitution which would be difficult and a lengthy process. Parliamentary sovereignty is slowly diminishing in the UK and a codified constitution would not only decrease government sovereignty, but also increase sovereignty of theShow MoreRelatedDiscuss and Analyse the Arguments for and Against Adopting a Codified Constitution in the Uk.1662 Words à |à 7 PagesDiscuss and analyse the arguments for and against adopting a codified constitution in the UK. How I Changed My Family - 997 Words
There are many influential people in the world but the one that stands out the most to me happens to be in my family. The person I chose to interview that motivates me the most is my aunt Annette Walker. Growing up Annette was my favorite aunt she was like my second mother. At the age of 17 my aunt worked a full time job, and was a full time high school teacher. After my grandfather passed she was forced to get a full time job to help my grandmother pay bills so they wouldnââ¬â¢t lose their house. She was forced to grow up at an early age and she basically lost all of her youth days. Once my grandfather passed away it took a toll on my whole family. My aunt was in the 12th grade when my grandfather died and she had a full time ride scholar ship to culinary arts pastry school in Atlanta Georgia. She lost her scholarship because she was working full time and missed too many days of school. She was devastated and ended up dropping out of high school because everything just hit her al l at once. My family lived in one of the roughest neighborhoods around, they were aired on Gang Banging in Little Rock. Back then if you wasnââ¬â¢t going to school you were in the streets, selling drugs, or either part of gangs. My aunt had no motivation around her or no one to look up too because the only man she knew best was taken away from her so early in life. Management Theories of Myer free essay sample
As the largest department store chain in Australia, Myer runs its business in Australia more than 100 years, it has 60 stores all over Australia, and Myer is trying to maintain a leading position in the retail trade; a number of management strategies are applied. In order to know how Myerââ¬â¢s managers maintain the performance of Myer, this essay will focus on analyst the important characters of management theories that Myer will use in their management system in the future, including the area of motivation, managing in a global environment and managing information. Motivation Motivation can be defined as psychological forces that determine the direction of a personââ¬â¢s behaviour in an organisation, a personââ¬â¢s level of effort, and a personââ¬â¢s level of persistence in the face of obstacles (Waddell 2007, p227). T motivation of employees has a huge impact on the performance of the organisation, so to keep the employees in a high level of motivation will be a good strategy for an organisation to be more effective. We will write a custom essay sample on Management Theories of Myer or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page In the annual report of Myer, it pointed out the wage and other benefits for store team members were increased, the contribution and commitment of Myer team members were recognised. This agreement can be identified as the extrinsically motivated behaviour, which is performed to acquire material and social rewards (Waddell 2007, p228). The more contribution team members make the more benefits they will get: wage hike, promotion and other rewards. Needs theories: A good manager should know what team membersââ¬â¢ needs are. The Maslowââ¬â¢s five basic needs will help managers understand the needs of their members. Waddel et al. (p. 230) argues that the Maslowââ¬â¢s hierarchy of needs is from lowest level to the highest level. As mentioned before, Myer increased the wage in the past years, so the physiological needs for its members should be satisfied with that. Furthermore, the report also mentioned they were continued to improve the safety performance for their employees (Myer 2011, p11). To make the members know that they are in a safe job position will makes the members in a good working condition. Mayer also focused on its membersââ¬â¢ belongingness need and esteem needs, in the pastà year, there was a program called Store Management Development Program which helped build competency among high-potential team members who aspire to leadership position at Myer (Myer 2011, p22). Social interaction, communication skills and leadership training were included. At last, the members also can satisfy their self-actualisation at Myer by achieving the opportunities that Myer offered to them. On the other hand, in the annual report, Myer did not point out how they build the healthy competition among the membe rs. Equity theory: The definition of this theory is concentrates on peopleââ¬â¢s perceptions of the fairness of their work outcome relative to, or in proportion to, their work inputs (Waddell 2007, p239). The more you pay, the more you gain; this proverb also works on Myer. The increase in wage and other benefits is not for all members, only for those members who made contributions to the organisation or had a performance improvement, the money the earned should be equate to value they created. To keep the member in high motivation, Myer has a series of reward and punishment policies to make their members in an equate system. Learning theories: Managers also need to focus on increasing employee motivation and performance by linking the outcomes that employees receive to the performance of desired behaviours and the attainment of goals (Waddell 2007, p227). There are two main theories under the learning theories, which are reinforcement theory and social learning theory. According to Waddell (2007, p245), reinforcement means ââ¬Ëpeople learn to perform behaviours that lead to desired consequences and learn not to perform behaviours that lead undesired consequences. The most common way that Myer used under the reinforcement theory was positive theory, increase in wage and other benefits. The desired outcomes that Myerââ¬â¢s managers used was raised the salary for the members who had more contribution for the company. On the other hand, the social learning theory works on Myerââ¬â¢s management system also. Myer encourage their members to learn some good behaviour or skills from other members, the managers will monitor the performance and correct the mistakes they made. In 2011, Myer received many positive feedbacks from team members and customers (Myer 2011, p11), which means the members were satisfied with this management theory and they were kept a good motivation, then they would try their best to provide services to fulfil customersââ¬â¢ needs. Managing in a global environment It is a more complex job for managers to operate a company based on the global business environment, but it can be also treat as a challenging for them, because it is a more open environment ââ¬â organisations are free to buy goods and services from all over the world easily and convenient. The following paragraph will discuss how Myer managers operate the company in the global environment in 3 specific area, supplier, customer and competitor. Supplier: Myer has more than 800 suppliers all over the world currently, to achieve the goal of world-class supply chain,, Myer established two global sourcing offices in Shanghai and Hong Kong in 2011 to enable them to further develop their direct sourcing capabilities (Myer 2011, p11). In the global market environment, although managers have more choices on selecting the goods source from all over the world, how to identify the most suitable suppliers is a big problem for managers for years. Managers should consider about the prices, qualities and other aspects, so Myer open many offices distributed over the world to collect suppliersââ¬â¢ information. It is well-known that the goods produced in China have a price-advantage rather than the goods produced by other countries, for this reason, Myer will nearly double its direct outsourcing of fashion, homewares and merchandise from China to $ 200 million (Eli, G 2011). Myer may achieve price advantage compare to other competitors by increasing import goods from China. Customers: For different customers from different backgrounds, ages and groups, their requirements are different, managers should not only focus on only one group of them, but also need to identify the needs from all customers, and satisfy their needs. On the other hand, there are a huge number of foreigners live or travel in Australia, and the number of them is increasing sharply in recent years, so they are the potential customers for Myer, it is a challenging and opportunity for Myer to sell products to new customers from different cultures and backgrounds, a number of research should be arrange in the future to identify their needs and their shopping habits. Another significant problem existing is the language problems, a huge percentage of tourists from overseas may cannot speed English, it is a barrier to communicate between the sellers and customers, so the managers should find some possible solutions for this problem in order to increase the sales on the tourists. Competitor: It is not enough for a success organisation only provides inexpensive and high quality products, the managers of the organisation should know what happens on their competitors.

Taxation Practical Introduction Australian -Myassignmenthelp.Com
Question: Discuss About The Taxation Practical Introduction Australian? Answer: Introducation Brownlee (2016) defines a fringe benefits as an additional materialistic privilege which an employee receives along with his basic form of compensation such as his wages or salary. The Fringe Benefit Tax Assessment Act 1986 is the primary legislation which governs the provisions related to tax implications of fringe benefits in Australia. One of the primary requirements in relation to the existence of a fringe benefit is that it must move from the employer to the employee in an employment relationship. Where the requirement is addressed the benefit would be eligible to be taxed under FBTAA provisions. When an employee is provided a car by the employer which is additional to his wages or salary in from of a fringe benefit it is regarded as a car fringe benefit under FBTAA Section 7. It is stated by the legislation that when an employee uses the car which is owned by the employee totally or is on lease for private purpose, such usage would be considered under Car Fringe Benefit Tax. In the same way the usage of the car would be considered under Car Fringe Benefit Tax in case the car is provided to the employee for private use even where the employee does not put the car up for such use. The determination of car fringe benefits taxable value is done through the application of preexisting methods. There are mainly two methods provided under the FBTAA which are applied for this purpose. They are the Statutory Formula Method and the Operating Cost Method. The process of applying such methods for value determination is provided expressly through the provisions of FBTAA (Statutory Formula Method s 9 and Operation Cost Method s 10A and 10B). Under the provisions of section 9 the actual cost of the car is required to evaluate the tax value and in relation to section 10A and 10B the operational cost is required. In addition when it comes to the operating cost methods the extent to which the car has been used in a public and private manner has to be differentiated and on the other hand no such distinction is required in the application of the statutory formula method. Another difference between the applications of both the methods is that the Statutory methods requires additi onal documents to be applied appropriately. The present situation (Case facts) The issue in relation to the situation is that a car has been provided by Shiny Homes Pty Ltd (Employer) to Charlie (employee) in addition to his wage and salary. As per the definition of Car fringe benefit it would be treated as a fringe benefit under FBTAA provisions. The application of section 7 on the situation would provide an evident result that the car has to be subjected to fringe benefits tax. The issue in relation to determining the Taxable fringe benefit value can be resolved by the application of the two methods. Under both the methods the statutory rate which would be applied is 20%. This rate has to be multiplied with the cars base value to determine the taxable value of fringe benefit. As discussed above personal and private use of the car has to be differentiated in relation to the calculation under the operating cost method and not under the statutory formula methods. This has been done in the following computation Statutory method Operating Cost Method: In relation to the provisions of section 11 (1) the deemed depreciation is computed by applying the statutory rate of 25%. In relation to the provisions of section 11 (2) the deemed interest is computed by applying the statutory rate of 5.65% for the year 2016/17. As evident from the above computation the method which provides a lower value of taxable fringe benefits is the Statutory method. Thus this method is to be preferred over operational cost method to derive the taxable value. In the present situation it has been given to use that the employer had rented the car for letting the employee use it for the purpose of his wedding. The employer also provided the honeymoon cost incurred by Charlie. These benefits have to be taxed under the FBTAA. Provisions for parking fringe benefits are set out by section 39A of the FBTAA which arise only when the parking of the car is done on a place owned or hired by the employer. However the parking in this case have been separate thus it cannot be taxed. In the situation stated by the case study it has been provided that both Allan and Betty have made a decision that they want to change tree. They have also taken a decision to sell off their house which is located in Melbourne and with its proceeds purchase a country house which is located in Victoria. Therefore as this transaction would not be considered under tax implications. Allan and Betty earn a living working as a locum doctor and a part time accountant respectively. Therefore under the provisions of section 6-5 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 the income of Allan and Betty would be subjected to income tax implications. In addition to these facts the case study also states that Allan as a result of his popularity within his professional field gets food and cakes in form of a token of appreciation within the clients. Although the fees which Allan charges is subjected to the provisions of ITAA the cakes and food would not be liable to be taxed as the commercial value of the se products is only $35. Allan has also been gifted with a wine bottle which is valued at $360, thus it is going to be included towards assessable income tax provisions of the ITAA. Indications are provided though Taxation Ruling TR 97/11 which helps to differentiate activities between hobbies and business activities. These indications are as follows The intention of the parties is one of the primary differentiating factor between a business activity and a hobby. Where the intent is commercial it depicts business activity and where the intent is non-commercial it depict a hobby. Business activities are primarily carried out to make profit and hobbies are carried out for personal satisfaction Business is constituted when the people associated with it have some form of commercial relationship such as an employment relationship whereas in a hobby the relationship is personal. A hobby generally include a low level of investment and on the other hand high investment is required in relation to a business activity A business activity has to have a registered place on the other hand a hobby can be carried out without a place. The case of Cooper Books Pty Ltd vs. Commissioner of Taxation of Commonwealth of Australia ruled that the profit generated from a hobby is to be treated as an income of the person. The marmalade made by Betty has become famous among the neighbors. Therefore she made a decision of opening a stall and selling the product every next Sunday. It had been stated by the principles provided in the case of Martin v. FC of T (1953) that no lone activities is capable of providing exclusive evidences and contains place on top indicators. However in the situation of Allan and Betty the nature of the activity is recurring. Thus their activities would be subjected to tax consequences. As provided by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) a barter system transaction is to be subjected to tax under GST and ITAA rules. This can be stated as this system of business is considered same as business under cash or credit transaction. According to the provisions of Subsection 25 (1) of the ITAA the revenue generated from this business is eligible to have tax implications. According to the provisions of F.C. of T. v. Cooke Sherden 1980 profit gained form the barter system implemented by Allan and Betty is liable for GST as per GSTR 1999 and ITAA. This is evident as the income which has been generated through Barter system is to be treated same as credit and cash transaction.
